Week starting 25th October
11/01/10
Monday-A beautiful, crisp morning and blue sky.Today we had three jobs to do. Our first involved removing the branches on one side of a large Macrocarpa in ashtead to allow more light into our customers garden. Then we pollarded 3 small apple trees in bookham. Our final job was to fell a large magnolia tree in tolworth.
Tuesday- Redcing the height of some lawsonia conifers on a very windy front drive near Epsom Downs
Wednesday, thursday and friday- hedgecutting in leatherhead. Big hedges!.
Week starting 4th October

Monday- Tree surgery in Cobham.We reduced a blue Cedar in the front garden and reduced the height of a line of leylandii conifers in the rear garden.
Tuesday-Tree removal in epsom. We section felled a large eucalyptus tree in the customers rear garden. Eucalyptus trees grow very quickly and this tree was too big for the garden!. We also reduced the height of a conifer hedge (again!)
Wednesday & Thursday-Hedgecutting in Bookham. Lots of privet and conifer hedges in need of a haircut
Friday-tree work in Cobham. We had to pollard a silver birch due to crown die-back, many branches were dangerously decayed and brittle so we reduced the tree hard in the hope of saving it!. We also reduced some conifers and tidied some hedges.
Week starting 11th October

Monday-We started our week with a busy day!. Removing deadwood from an Ash tree, reducing the crown of a cherry tree and removing 2 large conifers and grinding out the stumps
Tuesday-We arrived at our yard bright and early with a days hedgecutting in store for us. Just as we were about to set off we took a call from a lady in Ashtead who had woken up to find her Willow tree had fallen over in the night and blocked her driveway, narrowly missing hitting the house. We spent the morning clearing the tree. The tree was badly decayed around the base, and Honey Fungus was the culprit. Once that was done we went to start the hedges!
Wednesday-Reduced a conifer hedge and reduced the crown of a Robinia in Kingston. Then up to Epsom Downs to Re-pollard an old Silver Birch.
Thursday-Crown reduction of 1 Field maple and 2 Ash trees in Bookham
Friday-Removing the ivy and re-pollarding 1 Ash tree in Effingham. Another week flashes by!
Week starting 18th October

Monday- Hedge planting in Bookham. Today we planted a 20m long Cherry Laurel hedge in a front garden in bookham. Makes a change from cutting one!
Tuesday- Conifer hedge cutting in Cobham. We reduced the height of a conifer hedge from 12ft down to 6ft to allow the customers to maintain it in years to come.
Wednesday- Tree work in Bookham. Our busiest day of the week!. We started by cutting a conifer hedge in the rear garden and felled two large conifers in the front garden. Then we went to another property in bookham and removed 2 more fir trees in their front garden.
Thursday- Tree work in Epsom. We reduced and thinned the crown of a large apple tree in Epsom. Then we went to Fetcham to pollard a Cherry tree and reduce another Cherry in the rear garden
Friday- Tree surgery in Ashtead. Shaped and reduced the crown of one medium sized Horse Chestnut tree.

Monday-A busy day of tree work in bookham. A large Weeping Willow to pollard and some stumps to be removed.
Tuesday- tree surgery in ewell. Lots of large conifers to be reduced in height and a large Yew tree crown reduction
Wednesday- Medium sized Sycamore tree to be dismantled in the morning then a large Xmas tree to be section felled in the afternoon
Thursday- Garden clearance in epsom. Lots of nasty brambles and hawthorn trees to remove to reclaim an overgrown section of garden
Friday- a day off to attend our mates wedding!
Week starting 8th Nov
11/16/10
Monday-tree surgery in west horsley. deadwooding of an old Oak tree in the morning then some hedgecutting in effingham. A very wet and windy day!.
Tuesday-site clearance in epsom. lots of nasty, prickly small hawthorn shrubs to remove!
Wednesday- tree surgery in stoneleigh. In the morning we dismantled a medium sized Silver birch and also ground out the stump. In the afternoon it was the most fun job of the week, we pruned back some large branches of 3 huge beech trees in fetcham. The limbs were overhanging a road and needed bringing back to the grass verge. Beech trees are always great fun to climb!
Thursday- A rare day off, it was too windy to climb any trees!. Then, at 4pm an emergency job!. a large limb from an oak tree had split off from the trunk as a result of the high winds. The rest of the tree was deemed unsafe and had to be felled quickly, before it got too dark. We made the tree safe and worked on until about 6.30pm
Friday- tree surgeons in epsom.A bit less wind today so business as usual. Today we sectiuon felled 1 large Eucalyptus and a large corkscrew willow. The willow was badly decayed and the eucalyptus had got far too big ,and was too close to the house.

Monday- Today we started a week of tree surgery in west horsley. We are at the same property all week pruning, deadwooding and reducing the crown of lots of veteran english oak trees. Great fun!, big oak trees are always fun to climb!

Monday-Tree surgery in ashtead. Reduction of a Pissardy Plum
Tuesday-Treework in bookham. Section felling of large ash tree in bookham
Wednesday-Garden clearance in epsom. Lots of large unwanted shrubs and brambles to be cleared to reclaim some unused section of garden
Thursday- Two days of treework in leatherhead. A long line of conifers to be reduced. the leylandii conifers had got way too tall. They were cutting out the light and affecting the customers satellite signal.

Tree surgeons ashtead. We were working in ashtead removing 4 large conifers and 2 large sycamores for the first few days. Tree surgeons surbiton, we also removed 2 large ash trees in surbiton in the second half of the week.

tree surgeons bookham, we were in bookham most of this week clearing a site in preperation for construction of a new house. We were pollarding lots of out of control fruit trees, removing a few self seeded ash and tidying a massive unruly hedgerow!

tree surgeons leatherhead. This week was started by reducing and deadwooding a crack willow and 2 huge black poplar trees in leatherhead. These were technically difficult jobs as there was lots of deadwood around the crown and lots of large diameter branches hanging over a busy road. This required lots of roping works to make sure no branches fell into the road when cut. A challenge, but good fun too!

It has been a busy start to the year!. We had lots of catching up to do from work postponed in late december due to the rotten weather. We have been performing tree surgery in ashtead, leatherhead, bookham, epsom and ashtead. Heres a list of some of the jobs we've done this year....

A very busy month!. We have been all over the place doing all sorts of different jobs.
Here are some of the highlights!.
Crown reduction to 10 mature Corsican pines in ashtead. Tree felling in epsom-a large rotten Ash tree. Height reduction to a long line of leylandii conifers in Malden Rushett. Crown reduction to a mature Oak tree in Cessington. Removal of a dead Silver Birch in Sutton. Lots of other tree surgery in bookham, leatherhead and east horsley.
